15/07/2022A presentation from Mr Dylan Mead (VCE Pathways Leader) and Mrs Mary-Ann Tonini (Applied Learning Leader) on Thursday 14 July kicked off Year 9 students’ transition into Year 10. Parents, carers and students are strongly recommended to come to this important evening in the Marian Centre at St Mary’s Campus to visit subject displays and talk to teachers. The previously advertised compulsory information sessions will now be recorded and placed on our Subject Course Guide website.

- Current St Mary’s students – especially Year 10 students are encouraged to attend from 7 – 8pm
All in attendance will be strongly encouraged to wear a face mask.
The focus of Thursday’s introductory session was to introduce students to the terminology and pathways that will be in place from 2023 for senior students. The presentation can be downloaded below and there are links to three very informative videos.
The session included an introduction to the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE), Victorian Certificate of Education – Vocational Major (VCE VO) and the Victorian Pathways Certificate (VPC). Follow up on pathways and some information about subject selection for Year 10 will occur in upcoming Year 9 Veritas lessons.
In Weeks 3 and 4 of this term, students will have the opportunity to ask questions and seek additional support in the Coolock Library during Break 2. Any student with concerns can also speak with their Student Advocate or a member of the Year 9 Leadership team.
