Year 9 News – 8 August 2024
08/08/2024Year 9 students are currently submitting subject elective choices for 2025. It was great to see so many families take the opportunity to attend the Subject Information evening last week. Students have also been having worthwhile conversations with their teachers around pathways and suitable subjects to match individual interests and strengths.
Our visits to the Bendigo Tech School have commenced where students will undertake a focus on wearable technology. Each Student Advocate group will participate over the next two weeks.
Intermediate Netball: Congratulations to the following Year 9 girls who took part in the Intermediate Girls Netball as preparation for the upcoming Nationals in August: Ginger Hay, Lexie Fennell, Dempsey McDonnell, Juliet Hogan and Lexie Brennan. At this lead-in tournament, the girls defeated St Joseph’s College, Mildura 22 to 15, then St Mary MacKillop College, Swan Hill 21 to 16. In the Grand Final, against Rochester Secondary College, extra time was required, with our students ending up victorious by one goal.
Nexus Youth Theatre Company: Congratulations to Lukas Toman, who has just finished a season playing Prince Topher in Cinderella as part of the Nexus Youth Theatre Company.
National Swimming Championships: Congratulations to Zarah Reynolds for recently competing in the Gold Coast at the National Swimming Championships. Zarah won silver in the 15yr Girls 50m backstroke and had a great few days away.
