In Health and Physical Education classes students have started a ‘Disability Sports and Inclusion’ Unit, where they will experience different sports with impaired senses. Students have started with goalball (pictured) and will also experience blind cricket and attend a session of wheelchair basketball at the Bendigo Stadium. This unit is a great way for students to gain awareness of the sport and the importance of inclusion and accessibility for people with a disability or impairment in sport and recreation activities.
In Active for Life classes this week, students have been learning about squash at the Bendigo Squash Centre. A big thanks to Peter and his team for teaching our students about rules, gameplay and technique and showcasing different opportunities to engage in the sport within Bendigo.
