11/07/2024

The Year 9 cohort have now had the opportunity to attend three sessions with the Careers Team from St Mary’s. Subject selection information has been handed out. We encourage students and their families to take up the opportunity to attend the Subject Selection Evening information stalls at St Mary’s Campus on Wednesday 31 July . Choices for Year 10, 2025 are to be submitted at the Student-led Conferences with Student Advocates on 8 and 9 August.

Congratulations to all students who participated in the Winter Concert on 26 June. It was terrific to see so many Year 9 students appear on stage in the various ensembles. The standard was high and it provided a wonderful evening’s entertainment. Special mention to our solo vocalists, Bethany Cole and Elyssa Bhowon and also to solo pianist Jamie Dearricott and featured trumpeter and vocalist, Sadie Field.

The Year 9 Interhouse Netball competition concluded on Thursday 20 June. Congratulations to all who participated and supported players. Our house leaders, Eliza Evans, Ava McLauchlan, Holly Hembrow, Jemma Carter, Grace Mulqueen, Laura Foster, Ruby Bath and Madeline De Hann did an amazing job organising, umpiring, scoring and running this competition.

On Friday 21 June the Year 9 students took on a staff netball team. This game was played in good spirit and saw the staff win by four goals.

Active for Life classes enjoyed ten-pin bowling in the last week of term , as well as indoor hockey and the Outdoor Education students headed off for bike riding at Spring Gully.

Over the term break we wish Eliza Evans well as she travels to Canada for an 18-day Athletics Program. Eliza will have the opportunity to combine sightseeing with competing in meets against international youth athletes.

Good luck also to Max Connick, Lexie Fennell and Nicholas Harvey as they compete for Victoria in the Under 16 National Basketball Championships being held here in Bendigo.
