Year 9 Leadership in Sport Students Host Bendigo Braves

15/08/2024

The Year 9 students studying Leadership in Sport had an incredible experience hosting the Bendigo Braves at the Mercy Junortoun Sporting Precinct on Thursday 8 August. The day was action-packed as the students participated in a dynamic basketball clinic, which they’ll bring to primary school students later in the term.

During the clinic, students closely observed the Braves’ coaching and teaching techniques, gaining valuable insights into how to make drills engaging and well-understood. This hands-on experience perfectly complemented their classroom learning about different learning styles and how to cater to all learners in a coaching environment.

The session wrapped up on a high note, with the Braves players sharing their thoughts on leadership and its many forms, in both sport and non-sporting contexts. We are incredibly grateful to Mark, Cassidy and Joe for taking the time to work with our outstanding Year 9 leaders. Their visit left a lasting impact, and our students are more inspired than ever!
