Year 8 News – Thursday 15 June 2023
09/06/2023All Student Advocate groups have now completed their visits to Bendigo Tech School for the Digital Storytelling activity. Feedback from and staff and students indicate it was an educational and enjoyable experience. Students created their short clips while filming in green rooms/spaces and then editing using Clipchamp. Students can enter these in the Year 8 competition with winners to be shown at our next Year Level Assembly.
Year 8 students have been working hard to submit all tasks, in readiness for report compilation. It has been pleasing to see so many students engage in class and support this with work at home to display their growth and understanding.
The Veritas Landscape and Landform displays are on from Wednesday 14 to Friday 16 May. Students have been encouraged to use a variety of materials to represent their chosen landform. We are looking forward to seeing the creative pieces the students produce.
On Wednesday 7 June, we had Les Bâtons Français put on a show for all students studying French in Years 8 and 9. The duo are skilled in physical theatre and comedy, drawing inspiration from French culture, literature and music. A few students were even able to join in the fun and try to become a “superstar ballerina”.
“The French incursion was a fun experience that made me laugh. I got pulled onto the stage to be a ballerina. It was fun.” (Jack)
“It was funny. It was entertaining. They brought in audience members, making it more dynamic. I would go to another show, it was unique.” (Mykhail)
