Year 7 Food Tech – Delicious Zucchini Fritters
21/03/2023Well done to the Year 7s who have been working in pairs to cook delicious Zucchini Fritters in their Food Technology classes. (Recipe below.)
Zucchini Fritters
INGREDIENTS:
- 1/2 zucchini, grated
- 1/2 onion, finely diced
- 1/2 rasher bacon, diced
- 1/2 cup self-raising flour
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup grated cheese
- Salt & Pepper, to taste
- 2 tbs vegetable oil, for frying
- 2 tbs sour cream, for serving
- 3 sprigs of dill
METHOD:
- Collect all equipment and ingredients.
- Grate zucchini into large bowl. Squeeze out excess liquid from the zucchini.
- Add diced onion, bacon, flour, cheese, salt & pepper.
- Make a well in the bowl and add egg and milk.
- Stir until just combined.
- Heat frying pan with 1 tbs oil. When pan is heated, add batter to the pan, cooking 2 fritters at a time. Fry until golden, then flip fritter over.
- Continue until all the mix is finished.
- Serve on plate with sour cream. Garnish with dill.
