Year 10 News – 23 May 2024

22/05/2024

Many of our tremendous Year 10 students have been out and tasting occupational life in the workforce as they engaged in Work Experience and Structured Workplace Learning over the last two weeks. From all reports we have received, the students have very much enjoyed this experience and employers have been very impressed with our students’ work ethic. Workplaces experienced by our students include the retail industry, mining industry, veterinarian clinics, the Bendigo Airport, real estate offices, childcare centres, primary schools and many more. A huge thank you to our Careers Team, Work Preparation teachers and Student Advocates for supporting the students and to  Year 10 parents and carers for all that you did to help and encourage your child to explore future possibilities.

Planning for our Year 10 Camp in July is well underway and further information will be sent to students and families in the coming weeks. Our 2-night Year 10 Camp takes place in Melbourne in Week 2 of Term 3. The themes are Compassion, Careers and Culture. Students move about the city in small groups, using trams, trains and their feet to get to each new venue and activity. It is a physical camp, with lots of walking; the days are long, but it’s a great combination of learning and fun!
