Year 10 Melbourne Camp – Compassion, Culture & Careers

16/08/2023

Our Year 10 students enjoyed so much of what the City of Melbourne has to offer during their 3-day camp. Participating in a range of experiences focused on the themes of Compassion, Culture and Careers, students navigated their way through the city in small groups to visit key places like The Shrine of Remembrance, The MCG, Eureka Skydeck, Federation Square, Birrarung Marr, ACMI, The Melbourne Holocaust Museum and more. They attended TAFEs and universities and heard from many guest speakers who shared their knowledge and real-life experiences.

We are incredibly grateful to all the organisations and the CMC staff who gave generously of their time and provided such memorable opportunities for our students.

Congratulations to all those students who embraced the fun and the challenges of Year 10 Melbourne Camp and were great representatives of our College community.

Camp expanded my knowledge about the lives and cultures of other people, in a way I probably wouldn’t have been able to experience on my own.”

“I really enjoyed the camp experience as it was a good life lesson and we could show independence.”

“Federation Square was a great time with everyone.”

“The best part of camp was being given the opportunity to explore Melbourne and be treated like young adults. Also getting to hear stories from a Holocaust survivor who experienced a great deal of pain in their life.”
