Winter uniform reminders
21/03/2023The winter uniform is to be worn from the start of Term 2. We remind students and families of the College’s Winter Uniform expectations and we are working together to ensure students meet these expectations.
During Terms 2 and 3, all students are expected to wear the College blazer to and from school. We also encourage and highly recommend students continue to wear the blazer throughout the day as another layer of warmth when required. In line with our commitment to sustainability as a reGEN school, dressing warmly helps us rely less on using resources for heating, that are harmful to our environment.
During the day when not being worn, blazers may be safely stored in student lockers which are equipped with hooks for this purpose.
Year 12 students are permitted to wear the approved Year 12 rugby top.
Sports Jackets
The soft shell jacket is part of the sports uniform and is not to be worn with the winter academic uniform. Students wearing the soft shell jacket when not in sports uniform will be asked to remove it immediately. Students are encouraged to wear the College blazer as an additional layer of warmth.
Correct uniform
To support the correct wearing of the uniform, Student Advocates will work with their groups to ensure that students have all of the required uniform items. If there are items that a student is missing, Student Advocates will work with families to discuss when and how to source the item. If any families are facing particular challenges in securing uniform items, Student Advocates will discuss various options available to support students to be in the correct uniform.
When parents/carers and the College work in partnership we know the outcomes for our students improve. This is an opportunity to work together to ensure we are all upholding the College’s expectations of how our students present themselves in their College uniform and wear the uniform with pride.
As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact your child’s Student Advocate to discuss.
Expectations
CMC has clear Uniform and Dress Code expectations for students. Wearing the uniform correctly creates equity, establishes a sense of belonging and promotes our College.
In response to some valid feedback and to support students being in the correct uniform, there are changes to the consequences for those who do not adhere to the Uniform Expectations. These include tiered consequences for breaches of the Uniform Policy and the use of Reflection Rooms at St Mary’s and Coolock for lunchtime reflections.
