Third place at Netball Championships
06/09/2023VICTORIAN SCHOOLS NETBALL – CHAMPIONSHIPS FINALS
YEAR 9 GIRLS
On Tuesday 29 August, our Year 9 girls travelled to Melbourne for the Victorian Schools Netball Championship Finals Competition. The girls did an amazing job playing 9 games with 7-minute halves. The team had a great start to the competition, winning the first two games and finishing in third place overall with 6 wins, 2 losses and 1 draw.
Our defenders did a fantastic job stopping the opponents from scoring and getting a crazy number of intercepts, which helped our team score more goals. Our mid-court players were terrific, bringing the ball down the court, working well together, and helping with defensive pressure to get the turnovers. Our goalers turned up at the competition with lots of confidence which showed on the court. Their accuracy was on point, working well together with different rotations in the ring and encouraging and helping the mid-courters if they needed it.
The team worked very well together, with each player showing encouragement and support throughout the day. The players, helpers, supporters, and staff had a great day.
A massive thank you to Ciarah McDermott for filling in for us and helping our team out. It is much appreciated.
A huge thank you to Julie Fennell for coaching, Maeve Cass for scoring and Holly Speed for driving our team to the competition, encouraging, and supporting the team.
