The Caritas Challenge
21/03/2019Worldwide 780 million people do not have access to clean water and an estimated 2.5 billion people lack access to improved sanitation.
$150 is what it takes to buy a toilet to be shared by seven people; $150! Let’s say there are 150 Year 12s attending Catherine McAuley College – that’s donating $1 each, we can all definitely do that.
This year for Caritas we’re encouraging everyone to give without expecting something big in return.
With this in mind, we are holding The Caritas Challenge on the last day of Term 1 to raise funds for Project Compassion.
This will be a day full of lots of fun games and activities, great music; a day when we come together in solidarity with the world’s poor to help end poverty, promote justice and uphold dignity.
It’s really important that we all get around this day and understand that not everyone is as fortunate as we are, to have full bottles of clean drinking water and access to clean, functional toilets.
