Term 4 Social Justice Focus 2023: Bendigo Foodshare
23/10/2023As we move towards Christmas, Catherine McAuley College recognises that this can be a challenging time for many within our Bendigo community. This term our College will focus on supporting our local community into the holiday season by partnering with Bendigo Foodshare. To support this organisation the College will undertake a Food Drive, collecting staple items to be delivered to families in Bendigo who are in need. We ask students and families to contribute where possible.
Throughout Term 4 there will be more initiatives undertaken to support this fantastic organisation. These include our Ag program growing and harvesting fresh produce and our Year 7s undertaking a Community in Action project. The College is grateful to all students and community members who are able to contribute to its Food Drive.
Please bring the following items* in, for collection through Student Advocate Groups.
- YEAR 7: pasta, grains and rice
- YEAR 8: canned vegetables or fruits, soups and canned meals
- YEAR 9: ready-made meal bases
- YEAR 10: breakfast cereals, spreads such as jams, peanut butter and vegemite
- YEAR 11: coffee, tea, Milo, non-perishable juice and milk.
