Tanderrum brings Year 12 Graduands together
14/11/2019Year 12 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Tanderrum Dinner Presentation Evening
Catholic Education Commission of Victoria
All Year 12 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Graduands from the Dioceses of Ballarat, Melbourne, Sale and Sandhurst were invited to attend a Tanderrum (Celebration) Dinner Presentation evening at the Catholic Leadership Centre in Melbourne on Friday 13 September.
Congratulations to Georgia Males who attended this evening, from Catherine McAuley College.
The evening began with Troy Firebrace calling all present to Tanderrum, by playing the didgeridoo, then the MC for the evening, Michael Chisholm acknowledged country. The Calling in of all the Nations was prayed. Paul Desmond, Director of Catholic Education Sandhurst gave an inspirational Opening Address, then each student was invited to come forward to be presented.
The powerful words spoken by parents to their child as they were presented, along with the achievement of the students, (many of whom are the first to study Year 12 in their family), made this night a memorable, heart- warming celebration for all who had the privilege to be in attendance.
