Talent on show at Winter Concert 2023

On Thursday 22 June, our music students and staff finished the term with the annual music showcase – the Winter Concert in the Marian Theatre. It truly was a winter concert as rain lashed the theatre and temperatures barely reached double figures. Inside, the audience was warmed and delighted by the fantastic performances of our ensembles and soloists as they demonstrated the progress they have made so far this year.

The concert was a particularly impressive effort following so soon from the production the previous week. It is a testament to the dedication and hard work of both students and staff.

The audience was treated to a range of pieces from a variety of styles, including jazz, classical, pop and even some rock. Students and staff showcased their progress in the following bands and ensembles: Junior Concert Band, Coolock Choir, Contemporary Ensemble, Senior Vocal Ensemble, Senior Concert Band and Stage Band. A number of instrumental and vocal soloists also performed and the audience was delighted and thrilled by the display of talent.

It was wonderful to have a large and appreciative audience of families, staff and alumni at the Marian Theatre at St Mary’s to enjoy the performances and support our students. Congratulations to all performers who took part and also to Mrs Deb Ross and the Music Team staff for their outstanding work.
