Students tackle Science and Engineering Challenge in Science Week
21/08/2023On Friday 18 August, several Year 9 and Year 10 students represented the College in the Science and Engineering Challenge. The challenge day proved to be a fun and engaging experience where participants applied the skills and knowledge they have acquired throughout their education, to a range of practical scenarios. Our school embraced the spirit of innovation and teamwork as they collaborated on intricate tasks, from constructing bridges, earthquake resistant towers and mars rovers, to devising solutions to brain-teasing problems.
The thrill of competition against other schools heightened our determination and camaraderie. This event illuminated the practical applications of classroom theories, reinforcing the idea that science and engineering are dynamic and engaging fields. We gained insights into problem-solving, adaptability, and effective communication. The challenge day ignited a passion for discovery, reminding us that the pursuit of knowledge knows no limits!
A huge thank you to the University of Newcastle and the Rotary Club of Bendigo South for organising such an amazing experience for our students.
