Staff Spirituality Day – In Mercy we serve

Our Staff Spirituality Day focused on the 2024 College theme ‘In Mercy we serve’. The day began with a smoking ceremony, led by Troy Firebrace. We then welcomed Angela Scarafilo from Young Mercy Links who took staff through a workshop to further understand the power of our Mercy Charism. In the afternoon all of our staff participated in community projects. These included cooking meals for Bendigo Foodshare, gardening at St Kilian’s and the Bendigo Foodshare farm, and learning more about Indigenous culture.

“On Staff Spirituality Day, some staff took part in the service activity ‘Harvesting Hope: Bendigo Foodshare Farm’ at Emu Creek. The group opted to take part in one of three activities: planting onion seedlings, removing corn seeds from the cob and husking corn cobs for next year’s planting, and preparing planting beds by clearing old vegetation and working in the fresh compost. Staff enjoyed the opportunity to spend time outdoors on a glorious autumn day as well as assist the valuable work undertaken by Bendigo Foodshare.”
