Staff Spirituality Day 2025

02/04/2025

Who am I becoming? – Who are we becoming?

On Monday 31 March, close to 200 staff gathered for the Staff Spirituality Day, with the theme Who am I becoming? – Who are we becoming?

The day began with an Aboriginal Spirituality session including the traditional Welcome to Country and an introduction to Djaara Dreaming by Jason Kerr.

The morning sessions were facilitated by Dr Frances Baker RSM, Senior Lecturer at Catholic Theological College. The two interactive sessions explored who we are as people of Mercy.

The ten Mercy in Action afternoon sessions supported our local community, increasing awareness and providing practical support:

  • Cooking for Bendigo Foodshare
  • St Kilian’s Community Garden
  • Bendigo Foodshare Warehouse
  • Clean Up Australia
  • Mercy Health Bethlehem Home for the Aged – Gardening
  • Bendigo Foodshare Farm
  • Mercy Health Bethlehem Home for the Aged – Cup of Tea
  • Bendigo Animal Relief Centre (BARC)
  • Sustainability at the Trade Training Centre
  • Bendigo & District Aboriginal Co-operative (BDAC)

Thank you to all who organised, presented and participated in this thought-provoking day, exploring personally and collectively Who am I becoming? – Who are we becoming?
