St Mary’s Veggie Garden – Year 10 Work Preparation

Students in Mrs Bibby’s Year 10 Work Preparation Class have spent time this semester maintaining the Veggie Garden at St Mary’s; it’s been so exciting to see our beautiful wicking beds burst with life! On Tuesday, to continue building on the skills learnt so far, students travelled out to Bendigo Foodshare’s farm in Strathfieldsaye and spent the day volunteering with this critical community project. Bendigo Foodshare feeds thousands of people across northern Victoria every week and the farm is a vital part of maintaining their supply of fresh vegetables to some of the most vulnerable people in our community. Well done to the students who got dirty, carted compost, ripped out old crops and planted new ones; it was for an excellent cause and made a meaningful difference!
