Ride 2 School Day

Our bike racks were full to overflowing in response to Ride 2 School Day on Friday 23 February.

Coolock staff and students whole-heartedly supported this fantastic initiative of National Ride 2 School Day. What better way to rejuvenate weary legs after Caritas Ks than to jump on a bike the next morning and use active transport to get to school?

Over 350,000 students participated around Australia today and we are delighted so many of our students took up the challenge. Students who arrived between 8.15 – 8.30 were rewarded with some promotional gear for their efforts.

Did you know that students who ride or walk to school contribute to their minimum physical activity level of 60 minutes per day. They are also more focused and ready to learn compared to those who are driven.

Congratulations to all those who rode – hope the trip home was a great start to the weekend.
