Restaurant Role-Plays for Year 10 French Speaking Assessment

20/06/2024

Bonjour! Last Friday, 7 June, we had our French speaking assessment. This included having a conversation between a customer and waitress in a restaurant setting. Working with partners, we wrote our own individual scripts that we later practised together and fully memorised. In our scripts we made sure to include some attitude and movements to add character and excitement to our play, which was really fun.

On the day of the speaking test, our individual partners were in our own room to privately play out our French restaurant scenarios. At first, we were all nervous about our speaking assessment, being under exam-like conditions, however we all had lots of fun and shared lots of laughs during our assessment.

This term our French class learned how to have a conversation and how to pronounce French accents. Recently our class had a speaking assessment, performing a role-play in a restaurant. Students paired up with a friend to write two scripts, one as the waiter/waitress and the other as a customer and then they switched roles. Madame Taylor, our teacher created a pretend restaurant for us to perform our role-plays. Everyone was amazing for their assessment and had lots of fun learning and creating their scripts.
