Outdoor Ed Explores the Bellarine Peninsula
From 1 to 3 May the two VCE Unit 3 Outdoor and Environmental Studies classes participated in a range of experiences along the Bellarine Peninsula. The students took part in a series of activities which focused on the contemporary uses of outdoor environments.
Snorkelling with Burrunan dolphins and Australian Fur Seals in Port Phillip Bay, and surfing at Ocean Grove and Torquay were highlights for many students. To better understand the motivations behind conservation works, the students also took part in a beach clean-up along Queenscliff beach.
A talk from a Victorian Fisheries Officer before going deep sea fishing in the Bass Straight allowed the students to have a greater understanding of the way primary industry and recreation can work together for a sustainable future.
