Opening Mass 2025

Our College community gathered on Tuesday to celebrate our Opening Mass, led by Fr Junray and Fr Jackson. This special occasion marked the beginning of the school year and welcomed our Year 7 students into the Catherine McAuley College Bendigo family. In a beautiful tradition, the Year 7 students processed into the Mass together with our Year 12 students in their houses. A highlight of the celebration was the announcement by our College Captains, Jaida Raco and Caleb Tobin, of this year’s College theme: We can never say, ‘it is enough’. These powerful words remind us of our ongoing commitment to living out our Mercy values.

The College Choir enriched the Mass with their outstanding musical contributions, adding a deeply spiritual and reflective atmosphere to the celebration. Fr Jackson’s homily encouraged us to stay in communication with God and reflect on what truly matters in our lives – faith, love, and service to others.

In an historic moment for our College, we welcomed Year 12 students to serve as Eucharistic Ministers for the first time. Their leadership and commitment to their faith sets a wonderful example for the entire school community.

As we embark on this new school year, may we continue to grow together in faith, knowledge, and compassion, inspired by the words of Catherine McAuley – We can never say, ‘it is enough’.
