Mental Health Week 2024 at Coolock
15/10/2024Mental Health Week at Coolock: A Week of Connection and Fun
Last week, the Coolock Campus came together to celebrate Mental Health Week with a variety of activities designed to promote wellbeing, connection and some well-deserved fun for both students and staff.
The week kicked off on Monday, when staff gathered for a relaxing afternoon tea. It was a chance to unwind, share conversations and to reconnect after the holidays.
On Tuesday, students had a great time in the library attempting the Match the Teacher to the Pet Competition. The challenge of figuring out which teacher belonged to which adorable pet sparked lots of laughs. Well done to Harvey Wang and Emily Bullock who successfully matched all pets!
Wednesday brought a burst of energy to the gym as students and staff joined in for a fun-filled game of pickleball. It was a great way to stay active and engage in friendly competition.
On Thursday, we celebrated World Mental Health Day in style. McAuley Square was buzzing with music, fresh fruit and a visit from the headspace team. It was an uplifting day focused on mental wellness, community and support.
Finally, we wrapped up the week on Friday with the much-anticipated Staff vs Student Netball Game. In an incredibly close match, the staff team narrowly defeated the Year 9 students by one goal, with the final score 9-8. It was a thrilling game that had everyone on the edge of their seats!
Thank you to everyone who participated in this week’s events.
