Mental Health Week – Ways to Wellbeing
22/09/2019Thanks to students and staff for their participation in a busy week focused on the Five Ways to Wellbeing and R U OK Day!
The Student Representative Council (SRC) at both Coolock and St Mary’s Campuses were great this term, generating ideas and activities for the week. A special acknowledgment to the Year 12 Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning (VCAL) students and their teacher Mrs Allison Freeman. They coordinated so many of the student initiatives throughout the week including the barbecue fundraisers at both campuses.
A big thank you to IGA Long Gully for their support of the Mercy Works fundraising by donating bread for the barbecues.
Staff were successful in winning the Staff v. Student Netball games at both sites. They will retain the highly-sought-after Mental Health Cup for another year!
At Coolock, the “I AM” gratitude activity saw students write down three things they were grateful for and created a wall in their Veritas classes. This activity generated some great discussions in class.
A highlight of the week was the visits by Headspace. A number of our past students were part of the week this year – thanks for coming back and sharing your experience and tips with us!
