Intermediate Netball teams win the day
30/05/2023SCHOOL SPORT VICTORIA – SANDHURST DIVISION
NETBALL
Intermediate Girls
The Sandhurst Intermediate Netball Competition was held in stunning conditions at the Golden City Netball Courts on Monday 15 May. Our Year 10 team went into the tournament without Ciarah McDermott who was unfortunately injured, therefore some team restructure was required.
Several key mid-courters were asked to play different roles within the team to cover Ciarah’s absence (Jaida Raco to Goal Defence and Neve Pinner to Goal Attack) and they adapted beautifully. The team collectively rallied together and played five exceptional games of netball to remain undefeated for the day, including a thrilling overtime win in the Grand Final against Marist College Bendigo.
These wins were a testament to the quality of netballers in the team, and the way they worked together despite the challenges was outstanding. The girls have now qualified for the Loddon Mallee Regional Finals, scheduled to be played on Thursday 20 July here in Bendigo.
