Indonesian Learning Enhanced by Language and Cultural Exchanges
01/09/2023Year 10 Indonesian students visit exchange students from Sulawesi
On Tuesday 8 August Year 10 Indonesian students walked to Bendigo Senior Secondary College to meet with a group of visiting Indonesian students. The Indonesian students were from Palu on the island of Sulawesi and were in Bendigo for two weeks. Although the CMC students were a little nervous, they appreciated the opportunity to practise their Indonesian and learn a little more about a different region of Indonesia.
Everyone enjoyed their conversations and meeting new people from a different culture.
Years 11 and 12 Indonesian Incursion
Year 11 and 12 students hosted Indonesian students from Sulawesi at St Mary’s on Wednesday 9 August.
In small groups of four to five students they completed a Language Trail around the grounds of St Mary’s, giving the Indonesian students a tour of our College and facilities.
On return to the classroom, our guests were offered Australian snacks – lamingtons, fairy bread and Anzac biscuits, while practising our Indonesian and getting to know one another.
