Important Bus Safety Message: Tom Flood Interchange

Safety of Students Travelling to and from Catherine McAuley College

Dear bus travellers interchanging at the TOM FLOOD SPORTS CENTRE INTERCHANGE:

Due to a number of near misses at the Tom Flood Sports Centre interchange we have been asked to inform all students of the following changes that must be adhered to, effective immediately:

ALL STUDENTS MUST REMOVE their HEADPHONES when they disembark their bus and ESPECIALLY when moving through the interchange/s to make their connection with a shuttle service.

Students have been observed moving through the interchange area wearing their headphones and therefore not paying attention to bus movement. There have been several occasions where student safety has been of concern.

City of Greater Bendigo and the bus operators have been implementing new line marking, It is hoped that prior to the commencement of Term 2, each bus bay will be marked with their respective bus number. This will make it easier for students to immediately recognise where to find their shuttle services.
