Engineering Studies student Declan Slingo honoured at State Reception
28/02/2019Congratulations to Declan Slingo (Class of 2018) who achieved outstanding results in his Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning (VCAL) in 2018.
In January, he was invited to Government house to recognise these outstanding results, particularly his Vocational Education & Training (VET) subject, Engineering Studies.
“I was invited by The Honourable Linda Dessau AC Governor of Victoria and Mr Anthony Howard QC to a reception at Government House on 23 January to celebrate Australia Day, in recognition of my results for VCAL/VET Engineering Studies.
It was interesting to hear the achievements of others from all areas of study and work within Victoria.
We were invited to look around some of the rooms at Government House – the ceiling in the main reception room, the large billiard room, the dining room table which sat about fifty people and the huge gardens were all amazing to see.” (Declan Slingo)
