Coolock News
It has been an exciting week at Coolock as we welcomed many visitors to our College for the Transition Days and the blessing and opening of the Sister Aloysius Martyn Arts Centre.
Transition Day
We welcomed more than 300 Year 6 students to our College this week to participate in our Transition Day program. Students were immersed in a range of class activities and we have received some excellent feedback. The Transition Day provides a ‘taste’ of life as a Catherine McAuley College Year 7 student and is one of the early steps in the enrolment and transition process. Enrolments are open until Friday 14 June – please don’t hesitate to contact our College Registrar, Mrs Audra Petri by emailing apetri@cmc.vic.edu.au if you have any queries regarding enrolment.
Congratulations to our Year 7 Level Learning Leaders, Mrs Alana Burke & Mr Damian Driscoll, along with Mr Watson, Mr Melaisis and our staff on leading the day. Thanks to the Year 7 students who volunteered to help support our visitors throughout their visit.

Opening of the Sister Aloysius Martyn Arts Centre
Whilst covered in Brian Turner’s piece in this week’s newsletter, I also wanted to make note of the opening and blessing of the Sister Aloysius Martyn Arts Centre. It was a privilege to attend the opening where we welcomed guests from a range of settings.
Our guests were in awe of the amazing facility, but also our students who led, welcomed and performed. Congratulations to our College Captains, student leaders and musicians – they were terrific ambassadors for our College.
Mr Tim Edwards, Deputy Principal – Coolock
