Christmas baking rounds off our 2021 Foodshare partnership
15/12/2021The partnership with Bendigo Foodshare has been very productive during 2021 and they have sent a message of thanks to our community, especially to the Year 7 students and staff who baked Christmas treats at the end of term. Foodshare was our fundraising and awareness raising focus for Term 4 and we have enjoyed getting to know more about this wonderful volunteer organisation.
“Thanks CMC!
“We went out to Catherine McAuley College on Thursday to pick up shortbreads and fruit mince pies that Year 7 students made as part of their recent Community In Action days. These treats – which included messages from students – will go out in orders over the coming weeks.
“We’ve enjoyed working with CMC over Term 4 – students and staff also conducted a food drive, we spoke to Year 7s about our work and how they can help tackle food insecurity, and we also did a presentation to all staff. CMC also have a Grow A Row garden for Bendigo Foodshare – and we’ve had produce grown by students come into the shed across the year.
“A great school partnership that we’re looking forward to continuing into 2022!”
Thanks Bendigo Foodshare and we look forward to further projects in 2022.
