Cattle Handling Camp Builds Skills
06/06/2023Catherine McAuley College (CMC) congratulates students who attended Cattle Handling Camp in Geelong. Students achieved success in their categories and demonstrated outstanding cattle handling skills.
“I went in there not knowing a heap about showing cows and came away with so much more information, like how to read the statistics of a bull from an auction, or how AI works to impregnate cows, washing and drying properly, what a judge is looking for in a cow, tattooing and identifying a cow and heaps more.”
Teacher Scott Vaughan was very impressed with how CMC students participated and their skill development. He would like to thank Ken Lorains from Whitby Farm for lending his cattle for our students to use. Also, thanks to Stud Beef Victoria for running the event and the Lowline Association and Rotary Bendigo for financial support.
