Catapult Challenge
01/06/2018During Year 9 Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) we were taken down to the woodwork room and given a challenge.
The challenge was to make a catapult out of scrap wood and without using power tools using the criteria below. We had thirty minutes to get them ready to test. After we finished testing we had a further twenty minutes to modify our design. Many different designs were produced and tested, at the end of class we held a competition to see whose design was best. Some designs sent the projectile straight into the ground other designs launched the projectile a decent distance. The best design ended up shooting over four metres.
