Caring for the fabric of our Mercy heritage
24/02/2020During January and early February, the east side of the Mercy Chapel roof at St Mary’s received some much needed-attention. The slate on this section of the Chapel roof had become de-laminated and damaged.
The slate was removed, new battens and sisalation installed and new, high quality Welsh Slate put in place together with new galvanised ridge capping was also installed.
St Mary’s is blessed with several heritage buildings and these recent works are an important part of preserving over 140 years of Mercy education in Bendigo.
