Careers insight: Alex Cherry – architect
29/08/2024From Visual Communication to Architecture
Past student Alexander Cherry recently visited arts students at St Mary’s to present an industry talk about architecture.
Since graduating from our College in 2017, Alex has attained his Master of Architecture at Deakin University.
Alex shared his journey post-CMCB and his love and passion for architecture. He described what an architect does and explained possible career opportunities and pathways to the students. He inspired them with examples of how architects develop creative solutions and imagine future environments for living, working and playing.
Alex shared his projects from his Master of Architecture course and showed how his projects came to life from the initial sketch to completion. Alex said about his studies, “Since completing this course, architecture has offered a lot to me and broadened my knowledge of the world. This would not have been possible if I hadn’t been introduced to the discipline of Visual Communication when I was a Year 12 student.”
