Balloon Football League Underway

Six Year 11 VCE Vocational Major Work Related Skills students joined Mr Wild’s Year 12 Personal Development Skills students for Scope Bendigo’s Balloon Football League match up at the Red Energy Arena Bendigo last Friday.

They were quickly initiated into helping out the Year 12s. Tahlia (Year 12) was the lead organiser and she had the Year 11 students pushing the clients’ wheelchairs and being boundary and goal umpires.

The students found it a bit daunting at the beginning but they got in and did what needed to be done, enjoying the volunteering experience as their confidence grew.

Catherine McAuley College Bendigo has had a partnership with Scope Disability Services for almost a decade. Together they have worked on running the Scope Balloon Football seasons in Bendigo. The current Year 11 students will be next year’s volunteers at Scope.
