ANZAC Reflections
29/04/2019Student leaders represented our College at the Bendigo ANZAC Commemorative Services last Thursday. Will Tobin, College Captain, together with Year 8 student Jack Osborne attended the Dawn Service. At 11am, College Captains Charlotte Turner and Will Tobin laid a wreath and were honoured to speak at the service. Will read the Anzac Requiem and Charlotte read her own piece Side by side…Bougainville 1944 (click to read in full).
Jack Osborne writes about his ongoing commitment to attending the Dawn Service:
“25 April is very special date for me, so I was excited to represent Catherine McAuley College at the ANZAC Day Dawn Commemorative Service this year.
I attended my first Dawn Service eight years ago with my grandparents who did National Service in the Medical Corps, my uncle who served as a Military Policeman in Vietnam and my great grandfather who served with the Light Horse Battalion in New Guinea before them.
Since that day I have attended all ANZAC Dawn Services, as I have come to appreciate the sacrifices that all service personnel made during all wars. I will continue this tradition for as long as possible through my family.”
