About Anny Bonomo – Our French Guest
22/05/2024“I loved having Anny in our class as I learnt so many new things about France, especially the south. I loved hearing the difference between Madame Taylor’s and Anny’s pronunciation of some words. I found our classes with Anny were a lot of fun, as she is such a nice person and I loved listening to her speak.” Charlotte Teed (Year 12)
“Anny was super interesting to have in class because she had lots of things to talk about and it was cool to hear the difference between her and Mme Taylor’s accents as they are from different parts of France. It helped us, because we were able to ask more questions in class and have another person to bounce our thoughts off.” Abbey Fraser & Dervla Parker (Year 12)
“Anny has been a lovely addition to our class! We have learnt a lot about modern France and French slang from her and it’s very interesting to hear the difference in accents between her and Madame Taylor. There has been a lot of laughter during Anny’s time in class and it will be sad to see her leave.” Jack Barianos (Year 12)
“The Years 10, 11 and 12 French classes have had the privilege of hosting Madame Anny Bonomo, a friend of Madame Taylor’s from Montpellier in France. Anny shared details about her life and past experiences which were not only really interesting, but also useful as our class (Year 11) has recently been learning to use different forms of past tense. We all enjoyed having Anny and are grateful for the help she gave us with our French. Au revoir!” Meg O’Callaghan (Year 11)
“Anny was very sweet and really helped me with forming French sentences. She came from Montpellier in southern France, taught high school food technology and loves the Mediterranean. She spoke English well, though sometimes the accent made it a little difficult to understand her. We loved getting to know her.” Shenoli Perera & Isabelle Byrne (Year 10)
“Anny helped out in the classroom and was always wandering around, finding ways to teach anyone who asked. Anny was a funny and kind person to have around, sharing her own experiences about her travels and her southern French background. We will miss Anny’s humour and compassion.” Lucia Fitzpatrick & Brad Savy (Year 10)
“It was lovely to have Anny in our French class, she was great and shared many amazing and interesting things about France with our class. Thanks to her, and Madame Taylor, we learnt that French can sound a bit different, based on which region a person comes from. We hope to see Anny again soon. Thank you, Anny et Merci!” Hser Wah Wah Shee & Sophie Gurung (Year 10)
