A golden evening for Vincent Mass
21/08/2018On 15 August, Vincent House gathered in the St Therese’s Church to celebrate a house mass with added significance. 2018 marks ten years of Vincent House at Catholic College Bendigo (CCB) and now Catherine McAuley College (CMC) and the night celebrated the past ten years as well as this our first year under CMC.
I had the honour of welcoming all in attendance and highlighting the significance of the night before Father Andrew Fewings delivered a beautiful celebration of mass with a gracious homily on the significance of the day for our house and the church, as it was the Feast of the Assumption.
Throughout this mass the stunning voices of our choir echoed around the church and Liam Brown’s superb rendition of Hallelujah left our house amazed. This was followed by a PowerPoint of pictures past and present, depicting the golden house we are, and the presentation of our gifts to charity, collected through our Vincent House toiletry drive run over both campuses. This was a great success and the wonderful turnout was able to witness the good this would do for our community.
Vincent House’s special evening was capped off with supper afterwards, with teachers, students and parents mingling and chatting together.
A massive thank you must go to Mrs Jan Lake, Mrs Maria Slater, the choir, all students involved and to everyone who attended for making it a wonderful night.
