Cheerleading to Hawaii

On 15 May 2019, Year 8 student Ailish Clements travelled to Hawaii to compete at the DC Global Games and represent Australia with Southern Cross Cheerleading. Ailish has been cheerleading for five years and in the past six months has competed in the Australian National Championships, Australasian Pinnacle and most recently, the three-day event in America. Along with her team she has placed in the top five in these competitions.

“To be given the opportunity to travel overseas to compete at an international level was a bit surreal, learning about different cultures and meeting athletes from all over the world was a good learning experience.”

Ailish travels to Melbourne to train and trains up to 30 hours a week. She is currently back at training for state and national competitions.
