Animal Care Skills and the 3Rs

Animal Care students have been practising the skills of animal restraint and the process of a health check with our soft models. The use of soft models is one of the many ways we comply with animal ethics, specifically around the 3Rs – replacement, refinement and reduction. The soft models allow students to build their skills safely while meeting the replacement criteria.
