Mercy Day Celebrations 2024
03/10/2024The College community gathered at Coolock to celebrate Mercy Day on the final day of Term 3, honouring the legacy of Catherine McAuley in the lead up to International Mercy Day on 24 September.
The festivities began with a student-led liturgy, featuring Sr Sally Bradley, Executive Director of Mercy Works, who gave a gospel reflection on the Mercy value of service. It was an honour to have three Sisters of Mercy attend, Sr Kathy Ryan, Sr Anne Cossar and Sr Sally Bradley. Thank you to our musicians who were outstanding throughout the liturgy.
Following the liturgy, we celebrated the Spirit of Catherine Award recipients, recognising their dedication to the values of Mercy.

The excitement continued with students free to roam the carnival and mission marts, enjoying games, inflatable rides and food, with entertaining Rock in the Square performances drawing a crowd. The Year 12 race provided plenty of hilarity amidst the friendly competition on Finn Oval!
Dressed in their creative house colours, students truly embodied the spirit of the day. We thank everyone in our community who donated to our Term 3 fundraising for Mercy Works. All funds raised will go directly to support the efforts of their Diocesan Livelihoods Program in Papua New Guinea (Border Villages and Iowara, Western Province).
Congratulations and thank you to everyone for making our Mercy Day Celebration such a successful end to the term for our community.
