Orientation Day for Year 7, 2024
05/12/2023320 Grade 6 students from over 40 primary schools came to Catherine McAuley College to spend the day as Year 7s on Tuesday 5 December.
They gathered in our new Mercy Junortoun Sporting Precinct, and were welcomed by Mr Brian Turner, Principal, Coolock student leaders and the 2024 College Captains, Jack McMahon and Ella Hargreaves. Students also heard from the Year 7 Year Level Leaders, Ms Molly Leahy and Mr Stephen Evans, Mr Frank Dullard, Executive Deputy Principal Staff and Administration, Mr Len Watson, Assistant Principal Campus Leader and Mrs Cara Pawsey, Director of Faith, Mission and Community.
They spent the day getting to know each other, exploring the campus, performing a few science experiments, making nachos in Food Tech, along with Art and PE activities. A highlight was the BBQ lunch in McAuley Square.
The students arrived with anticipation and uncertainty but left excited (if a little tired!).
A big thank you to our student leaders who came in during their holidays to host our new students. Thanks also to the staff who prepared and delivered an outstanding day.
