Wearable Technology Program
27/09/2021Tasked with developing a piece of wearable technology to help someone with a medical condition or health issues, Year 9 students first explored sensor electronics using small components called LittleBits.
They then prototyped their product using Circuit Playground programmable boards and sewing machines. Students created many successful products ranging from watches that sensed the shaking of a potential panic attack and activated a relaxation activity, to necklaces that vibrated if they sensed loud noises to alert someone with hearing loss.
The students worked hard to develop their prototype and engaged with the Design Thinking Process to empathise with the end user.
