Zonta Awards 2020

At the recent Zonta Club of Bendigo’s International Women’s Day Dinner, Catherine McAuley College Year 12 student, Hser Oh Bue Htoo Lweh, was the recipient of the Gwen Symons Scholarship.

The scholarship, which aims to assist and encourage young women to overcome significant challenges, was awarded to Hser Oh Bue in recognition of her hard work and determination to receive a successful education.

Hser Oh Bue was very grateful to receive the award which will go some way towards her achieving her goal of becoming a primary school teacher.

Also acknowledged on the night was past student Eva Jan who received the second part of the Ann Horrocks STEM Award to promote and advance the role of women in the STEM field. Eva is about to commence a Bachelor of Science degree at Monash University.
